Joystick lever - what happens if bend it?

OK, I am trying to install a Wolverine joystick valve on my tractor. To get it to fit where I want to, I would need to lay the valve back to almost a 45 degree angle. If I bent the control rod to be vertical with the laid back valve, what trouble would I be looking at? I am concerned I will get a lot of inadvertent dual actuation.

As I have zero experience with joystick valves, this is all speculation. Let me know if I am asking for trouble or if this I am all wet and have nothing to worry about.

I installed a valve years ago for a power angle on my FEL mounted snow plow. The best place to put it was next to my FEL valve But it had to mount sideways which meant the joystick would have stuck straight out to the right. I just took the joystick off, heated it with a torch and bent it 90 degrees. It may be a little hard to see in the attached pic but it's one that I had on hand.

Thanks for the pic. I think I have seen this before as I was researching - nice install!

My concern is my joystick is a 2 spool unit, so concerned if the lever is not straight and in line withe the valve, that it will operate both spools when I am trying to only operate one.

Would it be possible to mount it where you are going to use it and clamp a small pair of vice grips on to the existing joy stick? Use the vice gripes to move the joystick ,and see if the valve bodies bind or do what you want them to do. A good tool box is always full of wrenchs that have been heated and bent for special jobs.
