MORE DIFFICULT EVERY TIME I USE THE DETENT MODE TO FOLAT THE BUCKET.

GOES INTO DETENT EASY.
STICKS
HAVE TO BEAT IT OUT OF DETENT
IF NOT CORRECTED SOMETHING IS GOING TO BREAK.

WANT TO REMOVE THE DETENT VALVE FOR CLEANING BUT, CAN'T FIGURE OUT BEST WAY TO REMOVE.

WITHOUT DAMAGING THE CABLE ENDS OR VAL. SPOOL ENDS.

CAN YOU ADVISE BEST WAY TO REMOVE AND CLEAN THE DENTENT AND OTHER SPOOL?

If your stick is linked by cables it's possible that's where the issue is vs the valve itself. Can you disconnect cables easily at either end to see if one is hanging up? If the valve is exposed to weather, muc, etc there could be something on the outside to check vs having to disassemble the valve.

I would lubricate everything well with Fluid Film, including in the detent cap.

Oh, and no need to YELL AT US ;) :ROFLMAO:

The detent cap is usually covering a sleeve of some type that is holding several small balls, when you go into detent they are what hold it in as they drop into a ring on the valve rod, they need to be cleaned and lubed the worst thing is they like to fall out and can be a bear to get back in correctly.

It's easy to end up with the detent ball bearings and springs on the garage floor if you haven't taken one apart before. If you do it, I'd suggest putting a magnetic tray under the spool when you remove it, and a clean white cloth on the floor so you can hopefully find the parts that don't end up in the magnetic tray.

Ditto on checking the cable first, then remove the bottom cup and see if it's full of rust and crud. Even if the boot on the lever doesn't leak, changes in temperature can cause moisture to condense inside the valve and end up in the bottom cup. I drilled a small hole in mine so the water could drain out.
