I just bought a IH 3414 backhoe and have heard 2 schools of thought on greasing piviot pins that are in the dirt, backhoe bucket and FEL lower pins. Some say grease often but that holds the dirt. Others say no grease, dirt falls off thus longer lasting pins & bushings. An old time farmer said if he greased the round disc cultivator pins they wore out very fast. Is there something that can be done extra like shaft seals to keep the dirt out of the pivot pins?

What does everybody have to say bout this, to grease or not to grease?

It often is a fine line between greasing to much and not enough. Not at all is a sin. If the fitting is there grease it and it will purge the dirt out. Grease it to much and it is a collector for dirt but it will block some dirt from getting in but might also hold some in. Often all a fitting needs is a pump a day not till it's running out. Steel against steel wears steel; steel with grease between it wears more slowly.
