i recently purchased a nice 246 planter,i know nothing about these really,im wanting to plant about a half to one acre of sweet corn of different varietys,1st problem is,it seems as im doing small amounts that there will not be enough corn in the hopper to have it work corectly,is there something i can do two remedy this? and last question,it has the 16 cell plates in it and i put some corn in and turn the press wheels while off the ground and it seemed to drop two seeds every so often??? help..

Different variety's usually are different size corn, thus, you have to match each to your plates to get a correct fit in the cells of the plate. Look for John Deere or Lustran plates on Ebay. They are cheap. Ken Sweet
