Does any one know how to mod a John Deere x728 hard side cab to fit a John x520.

No way it will work with out MAJOR mods done. You would be better off fabing one from scratch.

Well not really because it will cost some big bucks and not sure if I am willing to make that move.

There is a soft cab available that is a step above the one normally seen on the X520. It has a hard top, etc. and doesn't look too bad to me. I can't remember the company name right this minute, but your dealer should know about them. The cost is just under 1K if I remember right.
