Anybody have any Idea where I can find a compatibility chart for oils for John Deere.
John Deere Hy Gard is what I have been using as I know the wrong oil in the transmission can be a real bad thing.
The temp range I operate in -40 to 100 deg.
Not looking for opinions just facts.

I have looked and never found a solid list that I would trust my investment to.

You don't lose much fluid in the way of day to day operations. Just if there is a leak, which you need to fix first.

IMHO, If you are replacing the fluid won't you already be at the dealer getting new filters? That is what I found and buying 30L of Hy-gard is around $100 a small investment for a $40000 tractor.

I agree with you however the tractor is in a remote area and the nearest John Deere dealership is miles away. We have a good store of filters but oil is a problem for the distance as everything is flown in by small aircraft. John Deere dealerships are are 300 miles. But the fuel dealers are closer and we would like to have oil that is compatible.
I know what you mean by trusting a list.
But I thought I would ask.

I will tell you what I tell all the Kubota owners, John Deere doesn't make hydraulic oil. Someone makes it for them and puts on a sticker. It is the same oil that others sell if it meets the John Deere specifications. Lots of oil meets JD, Kubota, NH, Case and many others in the same can. The specs are written right on the cans as to which specs the universal oil meet or exceed.
Just check the labels to see if they list the equivalents to the universal hydraulic oil.

Even though it's a hassle, I do recommend using the Deere brand oil. Hydraulic fluid isn't changed that often and that extra bit of hassle may be be very worthwhile.

I don't have a lot of choice at the moment as the oils that are available are missing one spec that that John Deere requires. So for the time being I am going to sit tight.
Fuel supplier is going to see what he can do.

A number of years ago John Deere used to source at least some of their HyGard oil from Mobil with Mobilfluid 423.

I used to work for Mobil in Industrial Lube sales.
