John Deere trans fluid in Kubota?

I would like to know how may people fait when the read this question?
The Kubota trans fluid is outrageously priced compared to JD or Chevron. Where I live in Oregon it really never gets below 30 degrees when I use my L3010 to any stressful levels.
Can I use JD trans fluid in my Kubota?
I don’t know why not?

I think the Deere.com site ,under the electronic parts order section, you can view all the tractor specifications meet by JD Hy-Gard ( JDM J20C) tractor fluid covers. If memory serves it does meet Kubota standards for their conventional fluid but not advanced fluid.

When I was looking to buy a new tractor I compared maintenance cost and the only manufacturer that made the Kubota synthetic fluid was Chevron All-Weather THF at $75.00 per 5 gallon pail.

JD's oil is heavier thatn what we like to see in the Kubotas. It will make warm up a little slower. It does have the additive for wet brakes and it might be ok in the south but not in the north.

JD does have a low viscosity Hy-gard. I'm not absolutely sure but I think the Low Viscosity Hy-gard weight is something like ISO 68 or SAE 5w-20 with the regular Hy-gard being ISO 100 or SAE 10w-30.

My JD 790 calls for Low Viscosity Hy-Gard. That low viscosity has always worried me since I operate the tractor the most during the summer months with day time ambient temps that exceed 90*f.

Consequently, I use a standard viscosity ISO 100 Torque Converter fluid from Schaeffers Oil Company in St. Louis. They make two types of universal tractor fluid (they call it torque converter fluid) both ISO 100. One that is all mineral at $8.71/gallon and one that is a synthetic blend at about $10.00/gallon.

Now the synthetic blend has lower pour points and better cP results than the regular mineral.
