JOHN DEERE STX46 Mower Deck Droop

Having a problem with a sagging mower deck. (I know, it could be worse right? LOL) This lawnmower was new in 1998 but has been very well taken care of. The problem is the front of the mower deck does not raise as high as the rear when you lift it. Tried tightening the two rods at the front which connect under the front axle but have run out of thread. Not sure why this is happening. Could there be something else worn that I am not seeing? This does not cause a HUGE problem but it can be aggravating when you need more ground clearance when doing yard work.
