So then, I'm expecting that your car or truck is from the 60's, and you don't fly on a commercial airliner.

But I'm on your side when it comes to tractors. I will always avoid any newer tractors that have engine ECUs and emissions, and are regularly spitting out "codes".

My Yanmar is very much a near equal to a JD850. No emissions and no computer controls. EZ to work on and the machine is very reliable.

For vehicles, OBD-2 works for the most part, but the Ag equipment machines are all proprietary to it's own brand. So, those owners are stuck with an expensive machine that is broke (maybe not) and need to pay $$$ to get it going again.

One old vehicle on the farm is from 1982 with no computer stuff.
