John Deere H Series Dozer Controls Question

How does the speed control work on a 650H? I found a pdf saying it is infinitely variable ( http://www.deere.com/en_US/docs/construction/non_current_products/crawler_dozers/DKA650H0209.pdf ).

The only joystick control dozer I have ran was a Deere 450J. You shifted through different ranges using a "+ and -" button on the left joystick.
