John Deere Gator 4 X 2 Electric lift bed problems

My Gator 4 X 2 would not turn over so I tried the electric lift to see if the Battery was the issue. It lifted up and back down but slower than normal. I then noticed the hot wire from the battery to the starter was broken at the battery connector. The wires to the electric lift were ok so I decided to raise the bed to provide more room to repair the cable. I checked voltage at the battery 10V. I then attempted to raise the bed and it started anf got halfway before stopping. Tried charging the battery but it wouldn't hold charge. Repaired cable and replaced battery. The motor cranks and runs normal, lights work as well. However the electric lift does not operate. Looked for reset button on motor and fuses in the line to the motor but found none. Does anyone know if there are fuses or resets for the electric motor? Thanks in advance for your help.

My electric lift on my 4x2 gator blew the end off and quit working, but that doesn't sound like your problem. Sounds like from your description there is no sound coming from the electric lift motor when switching on.
Might try putting in a new battery unless it is less than 3-4 yrs old. It is where I would start if an older battery.
