John Deere Battery Equivalent TY24394

I will replace the battery in my JD 110 TLB prior to winter. Can I buy an aftermarket battery that will meet or exceed the performance of an OEM and beat the price? If so, what is the equivalent of battery TY24394 that will match all physical dimensions?

Go to your local battery store and see what they have.

A quick look tells me it's a Group 27F.... Interstate, NAPA etc all have them.

I ended up purchasing an Exide 27X from BJ's. 750 CCA 120 reserve capacity, $100. Dimensionally perfect, positive terminal LH side with terminals out. Unlike battery it is replacing, the fill caps are flush so I can orientate my batterly leads and accessories with great flexibility. I have the extra large power lead for my cab power and may likely add cables with an Anderson plug for jumping, charging, auxiliary power.

You should be fine with that, I am on my second battery with no problems for about 5 years using a Walmart Everstart. My experience has been that the Laurin cab doesn't use much power and the engine starts easily with a bump of the starter. This Yanmar engine seem to start much better than the Deere engine in my 4520. In 2005 when placing the order I opted for the larger alternator and I think in the later years this was made standard. At any rate I have never had any problems with the electrical system keeping up.

I should note that the options appear to be identical on our two machines.
