John Deere Bale Trak Pro - Setup?

I have a John Deere 467 baler that uses a Bale Trak pro monitor. I thought it would be nice to have a monitor in each tractor so I don't have to move it around. I picked up a AE74741 off ebay fro $389 with wiring harness. I figured I would be bale to just plug it into my baler and go. My buddy is saying it has to match serial numbers or something. Surely I can just use another like monitor with my baler.

Does anybody know?

As far as I know all that has to be done is be sure the monitor is set for correct baler width(467 or 567). The baler sn has nothing to do with monitor. Unless one is a computer geek the running(total) bale count can't be altered.

OK - I might just plug it in and see what is says. I know when my monitor comes up now it says 467 on it. The guy I got the monitor from had his 458 baler burn. Maybe it will work without any changes.

Because the monitor you bought is for a 468 might put a wrinkle in things BUT the number you listed(AE74741) is listed in the 467 parts catalog(MONITOR, BALE TRAK PRO S.N.(300001- ) (300001 - ). If it was my 468 monitor I'd hook it up to 467 baler and try it. Odds are it will work. I've participated in the "burning rd hay baler" program. I'm here to tell you that will get one's blood pressure rate "UP"!!

My baler serial is E00467X300476 so I think I am good. I looked it up in JD Parts before I clicked buy.

I figure AFTER I get done baling this next cutting, I will plug it in to see if it works.
