Well I last used it continuously last fall. It had been sitting there for 4-5 months. I hope it's just some blockage in the line, but you may be correct as it could be the shut-off valve as it was very hard to turn off initially when I was about to change the fuel filter. I had to use a pair of pliers.

I have opened the filter canister up before and opened the shut-off valve to see how much fuel comes out and it is a trickle.

Thats NOT what I suggested,,
I said to remove the line from the filter entrance.
Then you can see if the tank is allowing fuel to get to the "filter'.
Remove the gas cap before doing this, you should have a nice steady flow of fuel,,,
in any event, good luck.

drum roll please....winner winner chicken dinner! I opened the shut of valve, took out the handle and noticed that the teeth on the handle that turn the valve had sheared off. Well I thought maybe I can stick a flat head screwdriver in there and turn the valve manually, but that sucker is stuck (hence me having to fight to turn it in the first place when I was doing the filter change). Apparently after shutting it I can't get it to turn back now :(. Any body know why something like that would happen? Now I need to order a new turn handle/knob and a new valve or just get a new filter assembly. Until I order it I guess ill finagle with the valve and see if I can make it pop out or turn.

#2 is the knob/handle (Part #T111380)
#? is the plastic valve (after item 4) that just has a line on it but no number ( Part #CH12734)

An update -- I was able to turn the valve with a large flat head screwdriver to the open position. After bleeding some more air out, I was able to get the tractor to run properly. I appreciate everyone's help, suggestions, and support. This was a learning experience. Thank you all.

Congratulations on gettin' er figured out! Glad it turned out to be something (relatively) simple. Did it all bleed easily without cracking injectors or anything once you got the fuel valve opened up?

Once, i got the fuel flowing into the filter canister, I had to to open the nut on the injector pump and let out any air.

The valve hadn't been moved in a while, so with just a little moisture, you probably had some internal corrosion that locked it up.I have seen similar problems with a pinched fuel filter o- ring, allowing it to suck air, and it would do the same thing you mentioned. Glad to hear you got it figured out.

I just had the exact thing happen to me. I haven't turned the fuel off in ten years and the valve wouldn't turn back on. These posts saved a lot of extra work, thanks to all

Hey, I've got the same problem with fuel filter change. Did the exact same thing and hasn't started in a couple days. It's cold here, but not so cold as it shouldn;t start.
Did you ever resolve the issue?

Right, now I see you've figure it . Maybe that's my problem.
