Thank you everyone. Once it stops raining here enough I will try your tips. Another tip from another site said to pull tractor in gear, have you all heard of that one?

I am having the same issue and this has been really helpful to me. Found the inspection plate and opened it up, but it's all greek to me in there. Can someone help me understand exactly where I am sticking this screwdriver?

A slight depression is all that is needed, just enough to separate the clutch from contacting the plate. As Tx Jim said, I don't think total depression would weaken the spring. Besides, the strength of clutch mashing against the plate is probably why they stick together While sitting (and maybe rust). He can watch thru the inspection hole and see how much depression is needed for separation. It's just easier to apply the stick by using the slight pressure. Can even be done by hand after you dismount.

Have same problem and have looked at plates thru screen hole. Can you use a brake/clutch cleaning spray to help unstick them?
