Although I haven’t seen one yet in person, I’ve got my eye on the new 835M SxS. Anyone have any input on them? I currently have a Polaris General and while it’s been a good machine, I really would like to have a full cab with heat and A/C as well as a power dump bed.

If anyone would like to share any info on the JD, I’d appreciate it.

We'll I have an 865r. not much different than an M HVAC models. AC works great. I like the diesel--allot. It wouldn't be as fast as the 835 of course, but its got all the power I need to cruise around at 20-30 mph.
The cabs are nice and quiet. the bench seat really will seat 3 adults. It is nice to get in and out of.
I really like it--they are a bit pricey, but WTF.

Thanks for the reply. I considered the diesel version, but our property is very hilly and I felt like the gas version would suit me better.

Since we get a lot of rain here, I am hoping that the cab fitment is good and will keep the water out.

My dealer just called and said they are bringing one into their store tomorrow for a test drive. I hope it’s all I want it to be. I considered a Polaris Ranger, but I always seem to have issues with every Polaris I own.

The cab is pressurized,so you don’t get any dust to speak of coming in, but I wish the door gaskets were a little better of a seal against water.
My dealer did get them to seal, and after fiddling with them quite a bit, they passed a garden hose test. I think in a driving rain going 45 mph, you would still end up with a little water coming in. The whole thing is designed to drain though.
I’m pretty happy with the seal now, but you should really pay attention to the upper door seals when you are shopping.
I had a hard time with the gas vs diesel decision. In the end, I just felt more comfortable with a Yanmar.

Thanks for the tip on the door seals, I’ll definitely look over those.

Quick morning update:

Made a deal on the 835M. Really nice machine. I’ll post pics and give feedback once I take delivery.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the end price?

Also, are the cab doors removable?

I paid $24K as configured. Options added from base were F/R worklights, Bighorn tires w alloy wheels, bumpers F/R, receiver mounted winch F/R, power dump bed, first year servicing, and extra belt.

The doors would not be easily removed, they are heavy. The roll down windows are huge so at least for me, I'd have no reason to take the doors off.

I should add, this is the HVAC model, so it has A/C, heat, defrost.

Thank you very much! $24K is about the going rate here in Vermont too
I really like the extra storage space of the newer Gators...also, the new cab which would be very handy for our frigid Vermont winters. However, I do like an open machine for summers.

I just received my 835r in camo, Had a 825i 2012. They are a great unit !! I put 7000 miles on it and had no issues. Just had to replace front tires and 1 seat cover. I put 225 miles on the 835 last weekend and it went great top speed is 47 mph and I got the stock tires on it that seem to be very load when going over 15 mph. Other then that a great machine. I traded the 825i , And it held it's resale way better then the Polaris would have. Just saying.

My FIL just bought the XUV835M, but no cab or HVAC. I will test it out tomorrow. It seems to be in a class of it's own. This is an all new Deere model that is wider by about 2" with relatively flat floorboard and much much more foot room than previous models.

My wife drove it today and said it is really nice, smooth, and quiet. She liked the power steering. We still have the Gator HPX 2WD.

Curious to hear your thoughts on it once you have tested it out.

Looking at 590m or 835m with cab. What % below retail do you think you paid for your 835. Trying to determine my price on the gator. I live within a country block of the John Deere dealer, but I have always had kubota.

I want the cab and heater but no a/c, will take doors off during summer. Oh I did stop by kubota and looked at the new gas kubota, dealer is giving me a price for that on monday.

Thanks in advance.

What did you think about it for your test drive? I have to laugh, I was watching the Nascar race at Talledega and when the cars got 3 wide, they called it the John Deere gator 3 wide moment or something like that...

I answered the pricing on the other thread. Keep me posted on what they offer you.

Purchased the 835m Hvac today. Got all the accessories I want except for lights and flashers. I will miss the kubota but I will enjoy the heat during the winter and air when I keep the doors on during the summer.

I hope that you like it and it lasts for the long haul. Are you married? Interested if your wife helped your decision??? :)

Will you use it for snow blowing? My FIL just bought his to use to pull a trailer for some clearing he wants to do, also for hunting and general use.

Yes I am ordering a snow plow for it from a retailer. I have a boss vplow on the kubota rtv x900 I am trading in. That was a little overkill for what I needed.
