would a 1973 john deere 820 with a twin stick or collar shift trans be sincronized?

I do not think that it is synchronized in low range but if it like some of the newer (1990's) twin stick Deere's it might be synchronized in high range.

It's NOT synchronized. You must be completely stopped to shift gears or ranges. It MAY have the optional HI-LOW, a lever on the left dash, just like the throttle lever, marked with a rabbit and turtle. That lever CAN be shifted on the go.
