john deere 750 with a 7 backhoe

Hi everyone, I made the mistake of removing the dipper cylinder to get repacked without coping down how it goes back together. Now the controls work backwards. I tried switching the hoses arounds and it won't work at all. Is the cylinder in backwards? The main body of the cylinder in away from the tractor.
