John deere 750
I have a Mid 80's John Deere 750 4x4 non power steering. Everything worked fine before I parked for the winter. I kept the clutch pushed down over the winter because it got stuck to the flywheel the year before. Now it starts and runs great and everything works as it should except the rear pro. I have checked and top off the hydraulic fuild. Any thoughts of a simple fix.

I think it uses a lever to engage the rear PTO. I would check the lever/linkage/shaft into transmission case, to see if all move. Maybe a sheared pin in the linkage or shaft?
Try engaging the PTO with it not running?

I believe it is a live pto that disengage with the clutch pushed in on this unit.

There should be a lever to engage/disengage your PTO, separate from the clutch.

Please explain, did you forget about the lever? Or was there more to the problem?

I have never used the lever. Last year was the first time I used anything on the rear pto and I always seen it on so I thought it was a live pto. I thought the lever on the right was to stop the right wheel from spinning when it was stuck and the left lever stopped the left. I guess the one lever does both just push down for one wheel and pull up for the other. I just put it in 4wd when the tires start to spin. I love the tractor just wish it have power steering. Thanks again.

There is a lever/pedal on the right side that is the differential lock. You push down on it to lock the rear differential. I would not recommend doing this when the wheel(s) are spinning, you could break it. Engage it before wheel spin, when you expect to have wheel spin. Use of 4wd is better.
