I have a John Deere 750 gear drive tractor. This last summer I notice that when you shut the throttle all the way off the engine keeps running. You have to put the tractor in gear and hold the break to kill the engine to shut it off. It there an adjustment that can be made to the diesel pump. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Lift up on the "foot throttle" after the red throttle handle is moved to the off position. Mine use to do this and disassembling the linkages, cleaning and lubricating helped.

I found the foot override to be a handy feature on this tractor. Could set the throttle to a lower speed and then momentarily override to a higher RPM when demand needed.

The foot override is near the right foot along the steering column.
