I have a John Deere 71 planter. Anybody know what sprockets to use for planting beans? I have the silver plate for beans. Thanks

Have you tried looking at the parts available in jdparts.com (free registration). Shows complete parts breakdown and part numbers.
I just looking at it and learned what a "knocker" was. ;)

the operators manual has a sprocket chart and will be very helpful. jd p/n omh135752. You will need to know more about your cells, qty, etc to calculate sprocket size.

Here is the page from the Yetter 71 manual discussing sprockets and drilling distances. The Yetter 71 is the same as the JD 71.
