John Deere 770
My JD 770 was running but died due to broken wire in seat switch now. I replaced seat switch and now I can not get the engine to even turn over. Lights come on, on the dash but no fuel relay click or any other sound. Lights on dash dim when I try to turn over engine but nothing happens, checked voltage and seems to be fine. Any advice would be useful

Welcome to TBN.

I'm not familiar with the JD 770, but maybe you moved the PTO lever to ON while you were working on the switch.

Or maybe the switch needs adjustment.

Bruce thanks for your reply. I have disengaged and reengaged the PTO with no luck. I have also tested the pto switch neutral safety switch and seat switch with an ohm meter to be sure that all are working properly and found them to all open the circuit when engaged and closed the circuit when disengaged. I have also replaced the control module and again found that not to be the issue either. I will keep searching for other areas to check and update when a solution is found meanwhile if someone has any other ideas I would greatly appreciate them.

Voltage can be OK but resistance can prevent useful amps from getting through.

Clean both ends of all battery cables.

Charge battery.

Check other safety switches, if any.

I don't know why but a fuse was blown. The strange part was I replaced the fuse on Monday when it would not start and then assumed because I replaced it and it would not start still that the fuse was still good. But after hours of staring at a schematic and testing the 20 some odd voltage points for voltage and resitance in the starting system I started over and found the fuse to be bad again. I replaced it a second time and it started up just fine. I put a couple of hours on it and it would not start again. The first thing I checked was that darn fuse, it was fine but after I put it back in it started up just fine again. I know I had other issues besides the fuse as the first time I replaced it, the tractor would not start but I suspect that pulling as much as I did apart and putting it back together somewhere cleaned a connection. I now know am very familiar with the starting system and its components and if something happens again I feel it I can fix the tractor in at least half the time. Since I now have the schematics and the knowledge of where all the components are located. Thanks for your replies Bruce.
