any advice on a jd 655 looking at a 1987 machine asking 8000 has a loader

I think that is alot of money to put into a machine of that age and size. I would suggest you consider a new 2x20 machine with a good down payment and 0% financing. More power, new warranty and will be easier to get all the parts for in a few years.

I think at that age I would only give 5-6K. The 55 series are good tractors but at 8K I would be looking at a new 2520...
