My tractor has always had a little leak where the open/close shaft goes in to the hydraulic stop valve but recently it's got much worse. Is this rebuildable or an easy fix? Maybe just an O ring?

It'll take a few days, but I will look for my 850-1050 Technical Manual. The valve looks similar, and while they may not be the same valve, the information contained will likely be applicable.

It's still on my to-do list, just got seriously side tracked by a seriously ill pooch. But he's on the mend

I messed with it today. I pulled the fitting the handle screws through off and wrapped a few threads of the handle screw in teflon tape. Put it back together and so far not a dro of hydraulic fluid.

The teflon tape is unlikely to last long in the presence of hydraulic oil but does indicate your outer seal is failing.

Since you have had it apart once it won't be hard for you to replace the seals properly.

When ordering your seals pay attention to the notice at the foot of the Parts Catalogue page for the Rockshaft Piston Cover Valves - Page 119:

"(A) IF ORIGINAL ASSY. DOES NOT CONTAIN 2 PACKING RINGS CH11560 & CH10568 SUB (1) M801895,
CH15143 AND (1) CH10568"
