John deere 6400 will not go into gear and lift won't work

I have a 1993 6400 4wd, It was operating fine when I parked it. I didn't use it for 2 months. It starts and runs fine! It will not go into any gear and the lift won't operate. I figured I would see if anyone else has has this problem before seeking professional help. Any Ideas?

WHich transmission do you have? Is it synchro Plus, PowerQuad, Left hand reverser? Do any other hydraulics work? Steering or SCV? If you have an electrical left hand reverser then I suspect you have an electrical problem. Have you checked the fuses? If you do not have a left hand reverser, there is no electrical connection for transmission not working. Is it possible you developed a leak and lost hydraulic oil?

I have the syncro plus. Steering and scv works. I have changed hyd filter and there is plenty of fluid. I checked all fuses.

By "lift" do you mean a loader or 3pt hitch? Could the park lock cable be broken or out of adjustment? Not letting the transmission get out of park?

Yes , its the 3 point hitch that is not working. I will check the park cable

Does your tractor have a diagnostic mode you can enter and dispaly error codes?

For the 3pt one thing you can try is unhooking the electrical connection from the stepper motor then manually operating the stepper motor. There is a cap you remove from it and you turn a screw with a screw driver. Turning left lowers, turning right raises.

No it don't have a diagnostic mode. I called to work and will b out of town for a few days. When I get back I will check the park cable and try the 3 point manually! Thanks for the tips.
