My JD 5325 lift does not go down as far as it should. I have just recently purchased this tractor, Until this tractor I have always had Ford or New Holland tractors. The speed of raising and lowering is fine, it just does not go down low enough. It makes it hard to hook up to equipment and you don't disk deep enough.

Is there a mechanical hangup somewhere?

Do you have electro-hydraulic 3pt controls that look like this?

This is from a 6430 but is similar to what I have on my 5425.
If you do, make sure thumbwheel that controls depth of hitch is rotated all the way forward. If it isn't, your 3pt won't go down as far as it could.
