You need to push your arms in on the pins on the bush hog and install some cat II to Cat III bushings on the outside of the arms. This will shove the arms all the way to the inside and take up that slack.
I like that kind better too, but they use different style mounts on the tractor, a clevis instead of a single hole.If this was my tractor I'd be looking for a kit with adjustable sway links made out of sq tubing with multiple holes to just put a pin into correct hole. I dislike the turnbuckle/chains anti sway links
Additional you should be able to find a shorter shackle to replace the rather long shackle on it sway linkage. Match the pin size if the shackle and get as short as you can find. A ‘bow’ shackle will be shorter. It is possible there will be a ‘WLL’ and a number printed on your shackle. You should try to match this also if present. Two changes you can make.. to take up some of the slack..
Add a bushing or washers to bring the arms closer in , and put the sway links in the top pin hole.. both suggestions circled on the attached pic.
All brush hogs are not made the same.. so yours just fits different on this tractor.
I was thinking same thing, shorter shackles.Additional you should be able to find a shorter shackle to replace the rather long shackle on it sway linkage. WLL=working load limit
Thanks, That's what my 6415 came with.Zebrafive
I like the sway devices in your photo better than the adjustable square tubes I referred to.
If it sways that much your chains are not in the correct place and/or are too loose. Check support linkage on the Bush Hog in lowered position. Engine off.I have a 2001 JD 5310. First time tractor owner of about 5 months. It seems i have too much play in my sway bar, notice it mostly with my bush hog. When i have them connected. I dont believe its drastic enough where its hitting the tires but i noticed it when i had my 7ft bushhog on the other day. I believe i have the stabilizer chains as tight as they go? Will try to get pictures when I get back from hunting. Is there anything else that could help with this? Im just scared i will bang my mower against a tree or tear something up. Thanks
