Does anyone know if an intermediate bracket is required to hook up a quick attach hitch to a John Deere 445 for the purpose of running a 47" snowblower? I bought the snowblower online from a dealer in North Dakota and they said it came off of a 445. Well, I went to hook it up today and the Quick Attach hitch doesn't appear to be compatible with the frame of the tractor. I recall that the X748 I used to have had an intermediate bracket that connected to the tractor and then the Quick Attach connected to that bracket. I'm wondering if that is my problem...Pictures to follow.

Just quickly browsing through parts and that looks like a bracket for a 2210,2305 series or the 1023E,1026R,1025R series. Time to phone the dealer and say "What's up"

The parts dept at the local JD dealer said X7 or 1 series tractors. However, I found this picture of a 445 with the quick attach connected and it sure looks like what I have, except it sort of looks as though there may be an intermediate bracket connected to the tractor.

I used to have an X748 and I'm pretty sure it had an intermediate bracket that needed to be connected before connecting the quick attach.

there is no intermediate bracket needed, you have the wrong quick hitch for your tractor.
the way i remember it, old hitches from the 445/455 etc would come forward onto the new
x485 and x700 tractors, but the newer hitches would not retrofit backwards to the 445/455.
new hitches hang from the frame and pin at the bottom. old hitches like you need sit in the hooks
at the bottom of your front frame and have it's locking pins up higher.
here's a pic of the proper hitch:

here is a pic showing that hitch on the tractor, notice the locking pins are up higher
than on the hitch you have
