John deere 4410 won't go forward

I just recently purchased a 4410 and it was working fine for about 1-2 hrs. Today I was using a box blade when I suddenly lost forward. It will go in reverse fine but when I put in in forward and release the clutch it goes forward about a foot and stops. The code is flashing 1 short 1 long 2 short. I can keep taking out of forward and put it back in and it will go another foot forward. Also if I put it in high and release the clutch it will surge forward violently and stall the engine. Seems like it's all or nothing with the clutch in Forward. Reverse works as it should. I'm not finding any useful information online and unless I'm reading that code wrong it's for hydrostatic transmission.

The hydraulic filters were just just replaced with a Napa brand. Could the flow rate not be sufficient enough and cause this problem? I have a repair manual on the way but I hate waiting.

Assume this is the POWER TRAIN EPOWRREVERSER model. Is that correct?

So NAPA filter, how about the oil that was used? Sounds like a tranny fluid change after you purchased the 4410.

Yes correct reverser. Super tech heavy duty oil

I should also clarify that this was purchased at auction not running. Once I was able to get it running and changed all the fluids it was doing good for a short time then started acting up. It belonged to our school district. Im a SRO and work with the administration and they said they just put $7k in getting issues fixed then it stopped running again. The hour meter only shows 49hrs so I'm assuming they were having electrical work done. I'm attempting to get the receipts of all the work done so I might get a better idea of what was done but there is no guaranteeiI'll be able to get them.

The codes I posted do not seem to cover the situation to a "T", but may point to some of the calibration problems. I wouldn't be surprised if the oil has something to do with keeping calibration. Good luck.. you will be glad to have the service tech manual,

Well I put JD filters and hy guard low viscosity oil in it and nothing changed. Still waiting on the manual and tracking isn't updating. I hate waiting

. I've seen some talk about testing restance on the solenoids on the bottom of the trans. I'll probably try that and see if maybe one is way off from the rest.

Figured it out today. Two wires had separated inside of the insulation at the coupler for the forward pressure transducer. Little bit of new wire and solder and it's working like normal again.

Hi Shane,

I have a 1999 JD 4400 Collar Shift - SyncReverser. I am having a similar problem. The problem just started yesterday and I found your thread today. I have a 2001 JD 4400 Technical Manual and there is not one word of a pressure transducer or forward pressure transducer mentioned in the manual. What the heck is it? And where the heck is it located?
