John deere 4410 hydraulic problem ???

Yep. #8 runs between the two sides and has a shear pin in both ends so that as long as it doesn't get in a bind, both sides move together.

Thanks Jeff. Sounds like it is sheared?

My 4500 has one shear pin in the equalization rod. I shear it regularly when detaching my pallet forks. One side of the forks binds enough to shear the pin. I also have the problem of my 460 loader being out of level about 1 1/2" side to side. I have never been able to decide how to correct it since the problem seems to be at the front attachment to the frame. This out of level situation seems to cause to frequent shearing of this pin.

Just the pins, Item #4 shear. I keep a couple extra's now.

It is had to tell from the drawing, but does anyone know why it is made that way? Apparently no other manufacture does it that way.

Jerry,
It is made this way because of the Q/A feature, the rod (#8) ties the two plates together, so they move together when adjusting them to get a attachment hooked up. Just as the skid steer Q/A plates are solid between the two cylinders (if you are familiar with them?). The rod is just a cheap and lightweight way to do it.

Does this explanation make sense?

What I was questioning was the shear bolt. I didn't make it very clear. Why do you think that they put a shear bolt there to cause problems when no other manufacture does? If I had the actually unit here in front of me, I might not be asking this.

Who cares why they built it that way; the important thing is that, thanks to KENNYD, we now know how to maintain it! It sure makes sense to me that the design provides a shearpin rather than putting the force on the attachment, loader arms and tractor frame... Think of it as a sacrificial pin...Or would you rather sacrifice a more expensive part of your loader? My hat's off to KENNYD for showing me the quick fix! Thanks KENNYD.

I do. If I hadn't I would have ask the question.
JD had a reason for making it that way and it would be interesting from a engineering standpoint to know why.

That is what doesn't make since. No other manufacture makes them this way. That is also why I asked if anyone knew what the deal was.

I want to thank everyone who responded to my post. The dealer had the tractor for 8 days and hadn't done anything, after getting your advice I called the dealer and asked them to look at the pin, and sure enough that is what it was. I learned my lesson, before I take any of my equipment to the dealer I will ask for advice here first. You guys are great.
