Just changed the oil in the drive box at 500 hours. Filled to top of drain plug hole as recommended by manufacturer. Now it's leaking out of the bottom. Would it be worth the effort to put some some stop leak in and if so, what kind and how much?

Your gear box bearings will tell you to replace the seal and not to use any magical fix-a-leak. I can't imagine a seal would cost much more than a few dollars.

I find it strange it would begin leaking just after you changed the oil. Are you sure you didn't overfill it and heat expansion pressurized it and forced it to leak? Just wondering.

Yea. I'm not a fan of the stop leak either. It boggles my mind why it started leaking too. I filled it right to the bottom of the drain plug as suggested.

Did you use 80-90w gear lube? Synthetic? I changed mine at 500hours, no leaks. I had to drill the fill/drain plug to get it out, the "Allen" hex rounded.

Yes. Used the correct weight. I'm now suspect the belt was too tight.
