John Deere 4400 Tractor Rear Hydraulics

If you are doing the power beyond, I would consider if you think you would ever need the 3rd SCV. They both require tearing into the same area of the tractor, so doing them at the same time would save you some work. And as always when opening up the hydraulics, make you pressure wash it first and get the dirt off.

All of my previous farm tractor experience (2240, 2030, 2840, 2955) had the rear hydraulic outlets controlled by a SCV. When we needed constant flow to the rear outlets, the SCV locked in the open position and we used the implement's control valve. Makes sense to do the same now so I have max flexibility for future implements. I'll see what my local JD dealer has to say about all of the needed parts. Is there an aftermarket supplier anyone recommends so I have a second option?

While looking online at 3 point hitch log splitter reviews, I found one from a person with a JD 4300. He said his tractor needed to be nearly wide open to provide reasonable cycle times for the splitter. Based on that, I purchased a splitter with its own engine.

Appreciate everyone's input and suggestions.
