Hi all, I’m trying to replace the oil tube on a 1998 JD 4100, part number LVA800157. I got the tube disconnected, but I can’t get the tube out because it runs over top of a large cross-bolt under the tractor that seems structural. The oil tube has a bunch of bends and I can’t fenagle it out. Curious if I need to remove the large bolt, or if that would be damaging something. I’ll attach a picture. Thanks to anyone who may have input.

Pat

Have you thought about how you're going to remove that double threaded stud? If the left side has a nut on each side of the frame plate like the right side I don't see how that could come out short of cutting it or separating those plates as there doesn't seem to be enough threads cut on the inner side to turn in the inside nuts for clearance to get it out. If you do find a way, I would mark those nuts and stud so they are reinstalled with exactly the same spacing.

I wonder if you will need to try to pick the motor up off the plates or pull one of the plates off if that's possible to get that line out.

Another thought as a last resort is if that is a low pressure line you could cut both the old one to get it out, then cut the new one at an appropriate point, flare the ends, and put an appropriate hose on between the sections
