when I fill the bucket about 3/4 full with black dirt it takes a long time to lift can I increase the lifting capacity?

Check to see if the pump pressure is up to spec. May need a pressure gauge to do that. I'd work with the dealer service dept. for some help to check it out, and see if you may have a pump problem, or need a tranny filter/oil change. What is the history of your tranny oil/filter change?
