Howdy folks. I am not a JD317 owner, but I am looking to buy a muffler off on one. In this case, the motor is an Onan. I was wanting to ask a favor to any 317 owner. I need to know 3 dimensions of the muffler. The length from cap to cap, the length of the output pipe on the end, and the center to center distance of the input pipes. The one I am looking at has the input pipes all the way at each end of the body, not the offset type I have also seen. I plan on adapting this to a MF 1655 with an Onan motor, the MF OEM seems to be impossible to find. I have read where guys have used the 317, and the 318 mufflers with some modification. Most importantly being able to get the hood closed around a side output muffler as opposed to the original, which is a center front output through the grille. Here is a parts view if it helps.
