tractordata.com indicates that the 310a has a 20 gallon hydraulic capacity. However, i damaged a hydraulic line and didn't notice until i lost enough fluid that things began to function improperly. To my delight, it took less than 5 gallons to fill it up.

Is the capacity only 5 gallons? or is it a 20 gallon tank with the pickup tube near the top? or something entirely different?

Engine oil: Is it ok to use random 15w40 diesel oil in the crankcase like rotella? or does this old girl need special oil.

I've had this machine for about 6 months. She's about a 1980, but only has 1,600 hours on it. It was a city owned machine. She is a work horse!
