Howdy folks.
I have the opportunity to purchase this tractor.
Dude wants $2000, confident I can get it for closer to $1600.

It is a diesel, mas mid and rear pto including 3 point hitch.
Says it runs great.

Can anyone help me decode the product ID number?
T0301AG701743*

I'm most interested in knowing if it has shuttle shift.
Is it worth $1800 Canadian?

Thanks in advance for the advise,

Jay D

Speculation on my part, but it looks like the kind they used around here by the state to mow the highway right of ways.

The TO of the serial number = Dubuque Works
301A = Model
G = gas engine
701743 is serial number

From your pictures (not the best to tell) I can not see the lever for a shuttle shift. It would be on the dash left side, and look just like the throttle lever that is on the right side.

It's a diesel though, you can see the injection pump in the photo with the hood off.

Made the trip yesterday to look at, then purchase my first John Deere tractor.
He opened at $2000 and we settled at $1600. That’s just under $1200 US for my friends to the south.
He said the 3 point hitch does not lift. I’m hoping it’s because the reservoir for it appears to be 15 liters low....call it a hunch. Really hoping this turns into a quick fix.IMG_0382.PNG

I have the same tractor paid $1,800 US with a mid mount sickle bar mower. With a 6 foot brush hog on the back and its a great mowing machine. Very simple, reliable and fuel efficient tractor. I'm betting the three point is a simple fix as well. Good buy!Deere 301A.jpg
