john deere 2940 hyd problems

I have a 2940 4wd that the hyd filter canister is pressuring up and blowing the oring and It is not getting any oil in the oil cooler

I will suggest to check the 2 valves in the hyd lines(parts keys#16 & 22)

That is pretty unusual. What is the history on the tractor? Is it new to you? Has any extra hydaulics been added lately? How quick does it blow out the filter packing? Are there any smashed oil lines on the tractor? In addition to TxJim's suggestion, You might try removing the transmission pressure control valve from the shift cover. The oil has to pass through it after going through the filter. It could be stuck. #16 - 21 make up the trans pressure control valve.

Actually, I would recommend removing the entire shift cover and disassemble it. Once, we had a gasket from the end of a filter come loose and got sucked up into one of those passages and caused the exact problem you are having.

that was exactly what happened parts of oring stopped up at the pressure control valve in the shift cover
