John Deere 2720 Rear PTO not working

I have a 2012 John Deere 2720 with almost 250hrs on it. While brush hogging today, the rear pto stopped functioning. I disconnected the brush hog and am able to freely turn the pto stub shaft by hand. I checked the mid pto and when selected in either position that operates the mid pto, it does not spin freely. I'm assuming/hoping I broke a simple shear pin but am not finding any schematics on line. Anyone have any experience with this?

Did the brush hog not have a breakaway PTO (torque coupler or shear pin)?

The bush hog has a shear pin but it did not break. I'm not sure it's a shear pin issue with the tractor but it acts like it is. When the pto is turned on, the indicator light show's it is getting power, I can hear the slight change in drivetrain noise as if it is still turning but the output shaft does not turn. It turns very easily by hand, no binding or grinding, very smooth.

I'm not sure on that model. Does it have a hydrocouple in the PTO final? If so, you may have seized a valve.

Spoke to the local dealer and after reviewing schematics with the mechanic, it appears there is no shear pin/key that would only effect one of the pto's. He thinks its a problem in the linkage to activate it. Here's hoping it's an affordable fix.
