john deere 2520 hst
Hi
bought my second john deere went from 2305 to a 2520 because of my ex. hmmm thanx i think i forgot to thank her. i have pallet forks, waiting on a 54" box blade thru everything attachments. Plan on making a a tnt for the 3 point hitch i picked up one cylinder already.have a mechanical diverter valve now but plan on a 2 or 3 spool valve with power beyond port for the back. Also considering a bx70 woods backhoe, i know i have to make a beefed up hitch support and a subframe. Had an imatch i plan on another or a speedco quick hitch. Bought a 35 amp alt (not impressed with john deere and there 20 amp and there 3 point hitch rubbing the tires ,shame on their ignorance of knowing the difference). To thinking the buyers r stupid well here"s ur sign ur lucky we see a good product with inefficiencies. I must thank everyone for their help on hydraulics open and closed and power beyond. my only question is what size of lines to maintain 10.5 gpm? yes i realize size of connections restrict with size to so minimal size for the gpm ?
any help will be appreciated. also being an aircraft mechanic for 16 years and then aircraft structures for 5 more. yes i do understand how things work and i appreciate the advice on this site from its members of what i've read already and pictures have helped a lot. Thanx to all

You only need to size the lines for 5.0 GPM, the other 5 is dedicated to the steering. 3/8" lines are fine. The system is open center. JD did change the lower 3PH arms in the later models.

Thanx Kennyd i knew there was 2 hydraulic pumps on the 2520 didnt know they both put out the same. They did come out with 40amp alt and new arms yes and it should be covered by jd coz both r a problem was my point.

A lot of dealers/JD did cover/replace the 3PH arms when the original owners complained there are MANY threads here about that.

Why should they "cover" a alternator? I have a 20 amp on mine, with 4 worklights and other goodies and have never needed more. Only if you have a cab maybe would you require more that 20 amps.
