John Deere 2305 Parking Brake locked.

Hi Everyone,
First of I'd like to thank you for all the help and advice I received over the years with tractors I owned.
Sold my Kubota BX25 few years ago because of health reasons, anyway feeling better now so purchased a used 2009 John Deere 2305 520 hrs. for some light work around my place,this old guy ain't what he used to be!! Ha!


I have a problem with the parking brake locked on the Deere and it won't release the handle under dash is pulled up,maybe there's something else I should be doing.

On your tractor do you have to be pressing hard on the locked together brake pedals to release or engage the parking brake lock?

Only single parking brake peddle on this JD 2305 pressed hard on it won't release.

Might have to find where it locks and do a little prying, ratchet (?) assembly may be in bind or rusted...

Agree with DL that it may be rust. I have worked on a 2305 where I used to work. I've had to replace a lot of parts and linkage underneath due to rust and salt corrosion. They have a 3 pt. salter for side walks and salt and /or water seem to rust things up.
