The JD 2210 is a nicer machine for the money.

In my pictures, I tried to capture some of the features of
the machine that I was impressed with.

1) Appears as though you can take the bucket off the tractor without taking off the entire FEL.
2) The hydro controlls STAY with the tractor.
3) Adjusting the MMM scap wheels are simplified.
4) The 3PH is larger, longer.
5) Lifting arm adjuster (nicer)
6) A better design on pulling the links together.
7) Hydro filler tube. Have you seen where KUBOTA
puts it on the BX?
8) 62 " MMM

I'm not going out and putting a FOR SALE sign on the BX, but if both machines were available two years
ago, my perference would be towards the green.

Also, on a Kubota note: I'd like to cast my vote for the BX22 (TLB) for subcompact of the year 2002.

Someone must have coughed up 7 bucks, heh? Great pics, both the Deere and the Massey look like super machines.Better watch it,that little boy looks like a "natural" sitting on that 2210!!!

I like the red one best. Both appear to be worthy competitors for the Mighty BX. Only time will tell. The 2210 appears to be the same basic unit as the 4010 with smaller tires. I looked at a 4010 in detail and did not like the plastic floorboard etc. The red MF looks very nice, appears slightly lighter/smaller than the BX. Neither seem to have the massive bevel gear front drive of the BX and the frames appear roughly equivilent, perhaps somewhat heavier in the rear on the JD and somewhat lighter overall on the MF, the three point on the JD2210 appears better thought out too. The 2210 also appears slightly larger than the BX, to be expected if it really is a 4010 with smaller wheels and dressed up plastic etc. Don't like the funny "go pedals" on the JD, the MF has a boomerang like the BX--great!
I will wait for the new 'bota BX2400 to trade, meanwhile, slowly learning to appreciate the oddities of the B2410 and still very happy with my BX. Hope all these new units are very succesful with happy owners.
Oh, the unit shown with the backhoe by the way is NOT a 2210, it is a larger unit from the "4" series, which I cannot say, probably a 4110 which is roughly equivilent to my B2410, that is my guess, also note that it does not have the black plastic floorboard like the 2210 and the 4010. J

Nice pictures.

You should post a link to your post from the JD forums, so that others can see too.

JD should also send a commission to you for good advertising for them.

Dave..you went and tease me way to far,and I hope your happy..for Iam you rascal you. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

We took ride down to Deerfield Fair today and check out the new JD2210 /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Going to be interesting reading the feed back w/in a year from the new owners of the JD2210..looks like the BX22 now has some competion.

Dave
I went to the Deerfield Fair also.
The new Massey and the JD 2210 do look like they can compete with the BX series. One (possible) drawback for the Massey might be that the mower deck is not the suspended type.
Does anyone have any specs. on the 2210? They had no literiture.

I found it to be cruel to rope off a new toy, like that.

Dave,
Great pics. We were up there today. Had a great time. I loved the Rosencratz Deere display. I was surprised they had a 2210. I thought the mount was a little different vs the BX or GC2300. They both go to the frame as opposed to those 2210 mounts.

I really liked the GC2300. What did you think of it?

Phil,
I like it also.
IMHO, (again) I think the folks in the big blow up tent
at the fair should wake up and smell the coffee.
Gone are the days when the BX was the only show in town.
I think "old Bill" will have to get his pencil out a little more these days! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The Mighty BX now has some very serious competition.

My order on the four new sub-compacts.
1) JD 2210
2) GC2300
3) BX
4) Ingersoll

SethO, I was thinking the same thing. If the 2210 doesn't have a backhoe option, how could it compete with the BX22?

/ John Deere 2210 #35
Dave,
I think the blow up tent folks may already be aware of the competition. I posted under the "Deerfield Fair" thread in Related Topics. You probably saw they had a BX2200 w/FEL for $11,900. I had been to their dealership in June and they qouted 14.6K for the same set up. So quite an improvement.

Don't know who "ol' Bill" is.

On Saturday i went to a wine harvest fest in Lee, NH. Seated next to me was the owner of the largest Kubota dealer in NH. Very nice and pleasant chap. Complimented him on his new store down here. He seemed really proud of his dealership and the Kubota brand.

I mentioned a VT dealer with super prices. The owner knew of them - Walt's in Barre VT. But said he would never service a unit from them nor Carver's. He brought up Carvers. I was quite surprised at this. That he would not accept money to work on units purchased far a way. I did not pursue this as we were all out at a social gathering.

I have wanted a BX2200 for 4 years but between prices, being ignored at the fair (3x I went to that tent) and the no sale from here/ no service from here attitude Ihave changed my mind and put the GC2300 at the top of my list.

Phil and Dave,

I went to the fair Sun in the AM - it sure was packed!! dave - I took some photos of the 2210 as well - similar to yours too. Here is an older Deere 330 Nice!

All the equipment displays was amazing. I missed last year but gone every yr before that for last 7 years. IT has grown no doubt.

A comment about Ol Bill refers to Bill Mears who used to own MB Tractor - it was sold two years ago to another gentlemen who IMHO is a business man but has brought a different feel to the business - I will leave it at that.

Regarding pricing too, no real deals in the Orange tent $28K for a B21TLB, and others were similar..

I agree the MF series looked good, and will be some competition for the majors very soon..

Carl

Nice looking boy, in a couple of years you'll need to buy yourself another tractor so you have one to drive.. Better start saving now as they grow up faster then you think..

Did you get a chance to look under the hood of the J. D 2210 an see if it's reverse flow, is the radiator & fan in back or front???

You took some great looking picture, thanks much...

Leave it up to a couple of die-hard TBNers to post pictures of a new product on the web. before the Company has put out any info. on their product.

Many thanks, have certainly enjoyed the pictures of new sub-compacts...
