Trying to get the engine out of my 212 for some reconditioning. Got the PTO sheave removed, but can't get the drive sheave bolt out to remove the sheave itself. When I put the socket on and start to turn, the whole sheave turns and I can see the piston pumping up and down. Is there some special trick to hold the sheave in place for the proper resistance? I've considered pinching the belt or putting force on the piston, but don't want to do anything to make things worse.

Assuming the threads aren't siezed, putting a wrench on it and popping it with a hammer might break it loose.

Thanks. I'm not sure if the hammer did loosen things a bit, but I did get it out finally. Stuck a small flat prybar under the sheave to hold it in place.
