My step son borrowed a friends 2016 JD 2025r to do some bush hogging around his house. Everything was fine on Saturday. Today when he went out to cut some more the pto was acting up. As I understand it it is an electrical switch that engages it. Sometimes it will operate for 5 to 10 seconds sometimes not at all. I told him to look for wires pulled off the underneath but it has no obvious hanging wires. Anyone have any ides of where to start looking?

If it were mine I would take the switch off, check to make sure that its working correctly and start following the wires! Probably goes into a harness soon after the switch, you should still be able to follow them though. Might get lucky and just have a problem with the switch.

I will pass along your hint.
Can anyone describe how the pto actually works? I assume that it is an electric/hydraulic circuit that operates a clutch. However that is just a guess and I would appreciate any other info and a description of how it works.
