John Deere 1LT133 Hard to Start - Need Help

OK, the shop found what was wrong.

The magnets inside the flywheel came unglued. The mounts are rusted, so regluing would be unreliable. A magnet got caught between the flywheel and the stator, and ruined the stator. $300.. Ouch!
they must be charging over $200 for labor then..

Actually, they charge $70 per hour. The stator was surprisingly cheep. Mercury outboard stators are brutal, $600-$900. This was about $50. It was the flywheel that ate my wallet. Can be bought only from Deere, and they're VERY proud of it. Now, keep in mind, these are NEW parts, not Ebay pulls of unknown age, and not sure they'd really fit. Been burned by that a time or two.
