I am looking at buying a 1975 John Deere 1530 from a friend of mine. I does not have a loader bucket on it, but is in very good shape. Both of us agree that the hour meter must have been changed because it only reads 377 hours and it is working. This tractor was his dad's who recently passed away and neither of us have a clue what it is worth. I thought someone on here might be able to steer me in the right direction. Also, what number loader buckets would fit this tractor? Thanks.

I paid $5500 for a 1975 1530 with 1588 hours in 2004. I've seen them range from $4500 to 8500 without loaders. Just about any JD loader will fit the tractor. New loaders (522), can be mounted, you just have to get the appropriate mounts from JD. The loader that was most commonly mounted in that time period was the JD 145.
