John Deere 110TLB
New to TBN, first post, and looking for experienced advice on a loaner 110TLB. I have discovered that they are a maintenance nightmare, and I'd love to avoid a friendly visit from a pro if I can reconfigure it myself with service manual procedures. The main goal is to get the beast driving again (engine starts and runs at varying RPM, but no response from forward or reverse pedals)

--Battery was drained by leaving the turn signal on for a couple weeks. When they jumped it, my theory is they scrambled the info of a couple of the required configurations. I charged the battery and got a few flash sequence codes listed below:

1. Short-long-short-short (Forward Pedal Potentiometer). I've seen another post indicating there is a procedure to reconfigure this in the service manual. This is the main impact as I can still vary the engine speed using the throttle lever. I cannot, however, get the beast to drive in forward or reverse.
3. Short-short-long-short (Throttle Position Potentiometer)
7. Long-short-long-short (Creeper Drive Control) I actually was not aware we had a creeper drive... don't judge me.

I have the paper manuals, and will be diving into the procedures, but wanted to see if anyone has advice to get me started. Something like, "Don't bother, with that combo you'll never get it fixed"... that would save me a lot of time.

Or, if there's anyone with a good place to start (besides buying something new...), I appreciate the insight! Also, Or, if anyone reads this and has a specific TBN user that I could PM for better 110TLB advice, that would help greatly as well.

--Thanks All-- J

This thread I did might help you with a way to test the potentiometers. I think the voltage values on the 110 are different than they are on my 4310 though so check the manual for your tractor on the actual values to look for.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm finding a few posts where guys had the same issues after putting a fuse in the dreaded slot 12. I'm not sure what our other guy did, but it f'd this thing up right proper. I'll work through your post and see if it leads to our solution!

Talked to an old farmer once, he thought he was going to have to tow his backhoe into the dealer since it moved ever so slightly going forward or reverse. I asked if it was in high range or in low range. He was puzzled and we looked, it was in neutral instead of either range. Super easy fix but his comment was "I never touch that lever". it either was knock out or some kids messed with it. It's a (very) long shot but check it anyway!!!

Thanks sir, I'd settle for very slow forward or reverse, but I don't even get a tickle from either pedal.
I'm pretty confident in the theory that he fried the configuration by jumping it or by messing with the fuse plug #12... I think the tech manual is my next light reading.
