3-Point Hitch John deere 110 tlb issue

All of the sudden my 3 point hitch won't stay up when I raise the lever. As soon as I let it go it goes all the way forward and the hitch hits the ground. If I hold it in place by hand I can raise and lower it just fine . I researched the manual and cannot locate any info. It is full of fluid and only has 500 hrs on it. I believe it is a2006 model year.

So the lever will not stay at the position where you move it to? There is the black rockshaft knob (located roughly between your legs when you are sitting) that controls how fast the 3pt hitch will drop, but the height lever should stay where you put it.

I tried the knob and it does change the rate but still won't stay in place
