John Deere 110 TLB
I switched my JD 110 TLB from the John Deere controls to Cat controls today. I thought I would post for those interested.
1. Park on a level surface and chock the wheels.
2. Shut the tractor off
3. Let the backhoe to the ground and relieve the pressure by operating the controls full travel with the machine off.
4. Locate the valve assembly just below the backhoe controls

5. Disconnect the 2 houses for the boom from the valve assembly
6. Disconnect the 2 houses for the dipperstick from the valve assembly.
7. Remove the fittings that are left in the valve assembly and switch the top ones for the bottom ones. Do this to both sets of hoses.

8. Place the boom hoses into the Dipperstick side and tighten
9. Place the Dipperstick hoses in the boom side and tighten.

10. Start tractor and check for leaks.

I'm not quite sure what it is that you did or why....but it does sound interesting. How did it work out?

He changed the control pattern for his backhoe controls.

Some construction equipment allows changing controls with a switch, rather than having to move hoses.

I did this a few years ago with my No. 7 backhoe. I unbolted the valve stack and switched the two valves's order in the stack. ISO pattern is just not "intuitive" and I can't dig worth a crap with ISO controls.

One thing wrong with doing it this way is your circuit reliefs are different for boom and crowd circuit.

This would work also but Deere sells a kit to do this with out taking the valve section loose.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I did this to the No. 7 backhoe on my 955. I am not aware of kit for the 955. Re-ordering the valves was very easy and only took about 30 minutes. I know this post is about 110, but I was just commenting as an expression of my dislike for the ISO pattern.
