JD 1250 2wd- Terramite t6- ford naa-
I'm looking at the 110 to replace a JD 1250 tractor and a t9 terramite backhoe. From reading all the posts it will Handel all the digging of the backhoe but will it handle bush hogging all day and on some WV hills, and plowing & disking gardens. I would just like to have one machine to do all? I use the terramite on my days off for water, gas, and footers. But i also need a tractor for farm work. Any input would help. Also would kubota L39 be better for the farm aspect or JD110?

Toby, let me welcome you to TBN. You are thinking a lot like I was when I bought my JD110 TLB. Get one machine to 'do it all'. And the 110 will probably do what you are wanting. Maybe. Depending on what you call 'farming'. I doubt it will plow or disc 30-40 acres very well. Remember it's only about 33 hp at the pto. But it would do great on a garden spot. I haven't had time to take the BH off since I bought mine almost 9 months ago. I love the 110 for FEL work, pallet fork work, pulling stumps, loading debris for burning or haul off, digging holes and trenches, picking up concrete debris and blocks but I am probably going to buy a 60+ hp tractor for the bush hogging, discing, grading, etc that I need an AG tractor to do. No swaping out the B for a shredder, etc. and a bigger tractor for ground engagement would not be bad.

One thing to keep in mind about your hills is that the 110 or even the Kubota TLB are both set up as TLB's and so have a higher center of gravity than most AG tractors.

If you get the 110 I'm sure you will love it as a TLB.

I completely agree with Two Bit Score. I love the 110 I have, but I mostly do loader and backhoe work with it. I do also use it for brush hogging and grading, of which it does great at, but have not hooked up the disc harrow yet. The hp of the 1250 and the 110 are close, but the 110 has the hydrostatic tranny which does soak up a far amount of power.

I would not bother to look at the L39, it is a little smaller than the 110 but the wheels are quite small = rougher ride on a farm. The M59 would have the power to pull a disc better, but a gear tranny is best for farm work and the hydrostatic is best for loader work.

I have a 110tlb with cab and find it to be a very versatile machine. I use it the same way as you are relating, digging footers, and in my plumbing business. It also handles the large 84" heavy duty box blade and MX6 mower using the 3pt hitch. Removing and replacing the hoe is simple and easy so no problems there. I have all of the hydraulic options and highly recomend that you get a similar unit if you plan to cover all the bases with it. After about 600 hrs of use I am still very satisfied with the 110tlb.

This year I added a new 4520 cab tractor to handle the 3pt work and so far it has worked out well too. It was never an issue whether the 110 could perform the task rather with two machines we can work simultaneously. With this combination I can share implements and hauling and moving equipment is still easy to do.

I live in the mountains in New Mexico and have learned to stay off of very steep slopes, can't comment on your hills but will say that there are very few jobs that I have turned away because of equipment limitations.

Thanks for the info I do not have any body around hear to ask. I was thanking of selling the two and I might have enough or close to enough to look for a used 110. B-hogging I have about 30 hrs a year total and only small gardens to do so it sounds like it will do what i need. The only thing that worries me is mowing on hills, around hear I will just go up and down and not around the hillside any more on steep ground. Can you set the travel speed like cruise control or if you are going over rough ground will your foot pulsate on the speed of the machine . Also does it have the lift height for a 3pt post hole digger like a tractor. THANKS

With the backhoe off the 110 and with skidplates on it should be similar in center of gravity to other 4x20 machines. The 3 pt hitch is the same as other 4x20 machines. I have used both my JD31B PHD on the 3 pt and a planetary on the front with no problems.

My 110 is a 2005 and cruise was not available then, don't know if it is an option now.
As far as the pedal pulsating I have never noticed it. Going up hill will be slower with this much weight but not a deal breaker by any means.

While I like my new 4520 cab tractor I would say that if I could only have one unit I would choose the 110tlb with the Laurin cab.
